After a 45 minute drive, we then hike through lush jungles within the Tapir Mountain Reserve before arriving at the caves archaeologist base camp. Here we have lunch before gearing up with helmets and lights and then take a short swim into the cave. Once inside, witness sparkling centuries old stalactites and stalagmites rock formations and Mayan pottery, undisturbed after hundreds of years.
